SFU Seminar
In this seminar we will look at problems between epistemic access to complex systems and political mobilization, looking at the increasing role modeling plays, not only in the sciences and what we can say about reality (at a given moment), but also how (ideal) models drive reality, particularly in finance. Given the need for modeling complex 'objects' of our time, ones that only become an 'object' when their dispersion is averaged across locations and time scales, how can they become 'objects' for collective traction?
